Before just clicking on the first instant quote you see, it is important to distinguish between the type of car shipping you will be doing: namely, it is essential to know whether you are booking with a carrier or a broker.

The main difference between the two is that a carrier company owns its own trucks and handles all parts of the shipping process while a broker acts as a liaison between the customer and all the carriers out there.

So now comes the important decision and here is how the above difference might affect you. It is impossible to tell much about individual carriers since all shipping facets are covered by them. There are no “checks and balances” in terms of price, time frames, insurance offerings, etc. This can make this choice prone to surprises. When it comes to a car shipping broker, the customer is basically giving information in the form of a desired price, timeframe, and destination, and then allowing a professional in the industry to find a safe, reliable shipper to handle the execution. The nice part about using a car shipping broker—beyond a more complete knowledge of the shipping industry—is that brokers can insure all documentation (insurance, W-9s, receipts) are up to date and accurate. A car shipping broker has more power at holding the carriers responsible than the single customer because their industry experience, knowledge, and the fact that they represent hundreds of customers and hence control the market.

So while the car shipping choice is always in the hands of the customer, the shipping process might be best in the hands of a qualified broker.

One of the most basic pieces of knowledge is the type of shipping available. Basically, there are two types of car shipping options: Open Carrier Shipping and Enclosed Carrier Shipping.

With the market booming, there is more need than ever for quality shipping options. Whether your car is in Alaska or Hawaii, California or Texas, if you need your car shipped, a premium car shipping option is necessary. With so many companies competing for your car shipping business, it is important to gather the facts before deciding on what option is best for moving your vehicle. While competitive instant quotes can help this process along, knowing exactly what you are paying for beforehand is your best chance to find the right deal.

One of the most basic pieces of knowledge is the type of shipping available. Basically, there are two types of car shipping options: Open Carrier Shipping and Enclosed Carrier Shipping. Open Shipping is by far the most typical because of its affordability. In this manner of transport, automobiles are arranged on an open air truck. Having several vehicles (sometimes up to ten!) moved at once drives the prices down, however then open-air nature of this shipping does have risks (albeit minimal ones). The alternative to Open Shipping is Enclosed Carrier Shipping. This is the more expensive option but gains points due to the safety afforded the vehicle throughout the transport process: the car is contained within four walls for the duration of the shipping. In this fashion, fewer cars can be shipped and thus the price goes up. Enclosed Carrier Shipping is often chosen for those moving antique or higher priced automobiles.

When selecting the car shipping business you want to use, remember, information is power. Take the time to read up so that you can find the best means to ship your car at a great price!

The decision of whether or not to ship your car can dissolve to the default when speaking of an antique or specialty car.

The decision of whether or not to ship your car can dissolve to the default when speaking of an antique or specialty car. Driving across the country in some vintage automobile would turn a priceless investment into a bull’s-eye on wheels; no, a fully insured transport is the only way to go when dealing with that special sports or antique car.

And for these special vehicles, it is why to get all the facts. Work with a company (like Able Auto Transport) that has a long history of successful shipping. Along with a great company, be sure to have all the insurance coverage you need, up to date and ready to give that extra protection and peace of mind your car and you deserve. Lastly, consider paying a bit extra for enclosed carrier shipping. While open carrier shipping is a safe, reliable option, vehicles are open to the elements in this style of shipping: hail, high winds, rain . . . all weather intangibles could affect your car. Enclosed carrier shipping will basically move your automobile in an indoor setting, shielding it from all the “what if’s” that could keep you awake at night.

Many people consider vehicle transport to be something reserved for racecars or antique automobiles, the top specimens of the auto world. However, when it is really reasoned, car shipping is a sensible option no matter how common one’s vehicle is.

Able Auto Transport specializes in shipping cars. Period. Visit our testimonial page (http://www.ableautotransport.com/testimonials.php) to see a wide variety of makes and models represented. There, whether a vintage sports car, a family SUV, or a mid-level sedan, the commentary is the same: flawless shipping from a company trusted since 1987!

At AAT, we know how important our customers are, and that is why we have high success rate in terms of timely shipping and customer satisfaction. We know what we can do. Now, the onus is on you, the potential customer, to make the right decision for your car shipping needs.

Often, a person decides to hire a single driver or attempt to drive their own car across the country. They do the math and count the savings in their head, but then on the open road, all those perceived benefits fade into the roadside dust.

The fact is, driving an automobile across the country always presents more than one bargains. When factoring in the food stops, fuel, and overnight stays, the price-tag adds up in a hurry. And that is just when the expected costs are counted.

A danger in transporting your car independently is, in fact, the danger itself. Roadside hazards present themselves in the form of every other vehicle out there. Couple traffic with shifty roadways, debris, bad weather, and fatigue, and the risk becomes glaring for any non-professional driver. An experienced shipper knows only to work with the top professionals in the industry.

That is why trusting a seasoned car shipper, like AAT, is a sensible, timely option. A few clicks on a mouse, a touch of paperwork, and within three weeks your car will arrive at its destination having been cared for and handled by a trained and insured professional automobile shipper.

When deciding on whether or not to ship your car professionally, don’t let the make and model of your vehicle be the determining factor. All cars have value, and that value far outweighs the conjured savings of shipping on your own, even if the trip is flawless. With so many contributing factors, though, there is a good chance for the unexpected on your journey. And with the unexpected comes unexpected costs. With AAT and the professional shippers moving your car, all you can expect is a carefree, timely shipping experience. It’s our promiss.

Rising fuel prices can really hit you in the wallet and when prices rise, easy economics tell us we should stay home and drive less. But what if your job was driving back and forth across the US, 700 miles a day, pulling a car carrier? It’s pretty hard to cut your fuel expenses driving a semi-tractor trailer coast-to-coast while averaging 5-7 mpg. That is why rising fuel prices quickly affect the price auto transport carriers must charge to haul your car.

An average trip coast-to-coast one-way is around 3000 miles. With diesel fuel prices averaging $4.12 across the US, a car carrier can easily spend over $1000.00 at the pump twice a week filling up. Already this year, fuel prices are 22 cents/gal. higher than last year and that translates to a lot of extra cash.

So with lower fuel mileage and higher fuel prices, is it still economical to transport your car with an auto transport company? The answer is still yes. Gas and diesel prices rise together, so driving your car will also cost you more. Instead of paying all the extra expense yourself driving your car, a car carrier will spread that expense among all the other cars they are hauling. Car carriers may only get 7 mpg, but when they are carrying 10 cars, that’s like getting 70 mpg.

The professional staff at Able Auto Transport has been helping people move cars for over 25 years. They will provide you with a competitive price that will make great economic sense for you, no matter how high fuel prices go this summer. Call today. We are waiting to move your car and save you money.

Transporting your car long distances on a car carrier will actually cost you much less than driving.

Do you really know what it cost per mile to drive your car? According to the IRS standard mileage rates for 2012, they report it costs 55.5 cents per mile to drive your car. That’s just about right if you are driving a Toyota Camry that costs under $25,000, but that figure falls way short if you prefer driving an SUV or luxury sedan. According to Edmunds.com True Cost to Own Calculator, a Lexus Rx350 SUV costs the owner .76/mile to own and a BMW 7 Series, a whopping $1.35/mile to own.

Transporting your car long distances on a car carrier will actually cost you much less than driving. Though transport costs vary depending on your location, time of year you are transporting your car, to what fuel prices are doing, we believe we can save you money.

Able Auto Transport is happy to provide you with a quote to move your car today. It’s quick and easy with no obligation. We think you will be pleased with your savings.

Unlike many companies our carriers all carry primary insurance, at no extra charge to you. This means that our transporters are responsible for any carrier-caused or equipment failure damage. With primary insurance, you will not have to claim on your personal auto insurance for any carrier-caused damage. All damage, without exception must be noted at time of delivery. Your vehicle(s) will be insured against in-transit damage by the transport truck that we assign. These trucks, by law, carry a minimum of $750,000 public liability insurance.

In addition Able Auto Transport, Inc. requires that each independent contractor’s insurance agency supplies us with a certificate of insurance naming Able Auto Transport, Inc. as an additional insured or certificate holder. This certificate comes from the insurance agent’s office, not from the independent contractor. The amount of cargo insurance depends on the size and type of their equipment. Any insurance deductible is paid by the independent contractor.
